Threads Refined Changes the Field of Personal Styling

We all know the feeling… a closet full of clothes, but nothing to wear. That’s the exact dilemma Threads Refined founder, Codie Sanchez Baker, experienced, and her source of inspiration for start up.

Threads Refined is looking to change the typical shopping experience by pairing you with a knowledgeable stylist who will listen to your needs and create a style profile that is based on YOUR life (read: not what’s trending, not what they’ll make the most commission on).

“We think that using a clothes sent in a box service or an in-store personal stylist is kind of like sending someone to the grocery store without a list and who has no idea what is in your refrigerator. You’re going to end up with multiple plaid shirts, LBD’s or whatever else that salesperson is pushing and your style recipe is going to be seriously disjointed.”

“We think that you should have someone who is aligned with your goal (looking fabulous), just like Rachel Zoe, for instance, is aligned with her celebrity clients. She isn’t trying to get them to buy inventory from a store, or wear whatever everyone else is wearing because that is less work. No. She is trying to make dressing easy and effortless for them, while insuring they have iconic personal style tailored to their life. That is what we do with Threads Refined.”

This ASU alum tried out multiple styling services before founding her company. “I tried box services like Trunk Club (with my husband), looked into Stitchfix, tested a million in store stylists and even tried to find myself a free lance one. All in all, they either weren’t actually fashion experts and just tried to sell me something, or they brought items that were incredibly expensive or just plain crazy. The moment someone says to me, “Anyone can wear a crop-top!” Is the moment I walk out the door. I’m 29 and in finance. Crop tops for work are a bit like me wearing a clown suit.

Each time I thought dear lord we have landed men on the moon why is it so hard to make sure I have something to wear each day that I look good in?”

To make sure no one goes through that type of experience, Threads Refined takes a different approach to style with their 4-step process.

1) Fill out their style quiz so they know what is in your “refrigerator”.

2) Buy an hour or two of a stylist’s time to make sure they know you mean business.

3) They match you with your personal stylist based on your quiz and the stylist’s background.

4) The stylist comes to you (either in person or virtual) to hear all about what you need and solve your style problems.

“Our Threads Refined Personal Stylists are the real difference. They are the ones who have that unnatural knack for “throwing together” swoon-worthy outfits for every occasion. They include the who’s who of blogosphere like The Miller Affect, Fashion & Frills, and The Bubbly Blonde, as well as top tier stylists who run their own companies.

We select our Stylists through an exacting application process and choose each Stylist based on their experience, portfolio, amazing personality and relentless work ethic.”
