We love fashion. We love art. And we really love when these two things intersect, which is why every year we jump for joy at the chance to participate in and attend Inspired Soles.
Inspired Soles showcases the creative minds of local artists who use a stiletto as their blank canvas and transform the shoe into one-of-a-kind works of art. More than 70 participating artists and designers (including Couture in the Suburbs!) have volunteered thousands of hours to make this annual event an organic showcase of local talent.
Each year the shoe designs get better and better. Some artists draw inspiration from beloved pop culture icons, others pull inspiration from various social causes, and still others find inspiration in their favorite hobbies. The producers of the shoe give literally zero instructions to the artists, other than to use a high heel to create a magnificent piece of art. This type of freedom is what feeds the soul of the artist and pushes them out of their comfort zone and into a realm of new possibilities.
Your Chance to Participate in Inspired Soles
Because we love the premise of Inspired Soles so much, we wanted to give you the chance to participate. Tell us what the High Heel represents to you, and we will share your quotes on social media.
For every response generated, Couture in the Suburbs will donate $1 to Artlink Phoenix, an organization supported by Inspired Soles that is dedicated to connecting artists, businesses and the public to better understand, appreciate and support a thriving arts community in downtown Phoenix.

Couture in the Suburbs at Inspired Soles 2015
We are beyond excited to not only support Inspired Soles through our donation, but also by creating a custom piece to auction off at the event. We’ll be revealing the design on Snapchat and Instagram, but you’ll have to head out to Warehouse 215 at Bentley Projects for the Artist Meet & Greet on March 31st or the First Friday event on April 1st to see the other incredible pieces by other local artists (more details here).
