Each year for Phoenix Fashion Week, our team highlights the best fashion on the runway. But, what you don’t usually get to see, is all the incredible people sitting in the AUDIENCE. We wanted to change that, so we’ve partnered with Phoenix Fashion Week to highlight a few of the VIPs that will be sitting Front Row this year at the runway shows. Get to know the movers and shakers of the local fashion scene as they talk about what they are most looking forward to at Phoenix Fashion Week 2016.

Get to Know Russell & LeAnna Goldstein

Russell and LeAnna Goldstein are staples of the Phoenix fashion scene. This dynamic duo can regularly be seen walking the red carpet hand in hand at the best fashion and charity events in town. As a member of the Phoenix Fashion Week advisory board, Russell is committed to making Phoenix Fashion Week better each and every year. We sat down for a quick chat with him to see what he is personally looking forward to most for 2016’s event.

CitS: What makes Phoenix Fashion Week a must-attend event for you?

RG: The ability to see the latest trends and styles for the year along with the launch of new emerging designers is really exciting. The stories of each designer during the evening brings connectivity to the brand and designers. We become attached to these emerging designers and enjoy watching their growth and careers blossom.

CitS: What are you looking forward to most about Phoenix Fashion Week this year?

RG: Seeing the end result from all of the work in the boot camp and weekly assignments to the runway at Fashion Week is what we look forward to most. We follow these emerging designers for months prior to Fashion Week and the culmination of all of their work coupled with Phoenix Fashion Week’s mentorship, guidance, boot camp and programs is a special moment when the lights are shining bright on the runway.

CitS: What’s your favorite place to go to dinner at before the runway shows?

RG: As an Advisory Board member for Phoenix Fashion Week I am usually running around prepping and helping with set up prior to the show, so there isn’t time to eat before Fashion Week. That said, our tradition has been at TSR Blue Coyote late night after fashion week. Their fried rice, wedge fries and nachos are perfect after a long day of working to ensure a great event.

CitS: Can you give us an idea of what you will be wearing?

RG: For me, suits and sport jackets by Phoenix Fashion Week designer and Advisor Élevée (Percy Knox). I’ll also be busting out my first pair of Louboutins on Saturday night.

LeAnna is always searching for a unique combination of fashion forward outfits that are built from her love of pulling together new designers and accessories that stand out. Her style is built on layering and combining styles and designers for a distinct look.

CitS: Do you have any early favorites for Designer of the Year?

RG: We have the honor to intimately know and learn about the emerging designers from the beginning of their journey. It becomes very difficult to choose just one and we are excited to see all of their hard work make it onto the runways. That said, we are looking forward to see the runway shows for Forgiven Love, MXN Fashion and Ricci JvR
