Degree 270 lounge at Talking Stick Resort  in Scottsdale was THE place to be Friday night. A very well-dressed crowd headed up to the 14th floor via private elevators to see looks from the newest designers to hit the Phoenix fashion scene at the Shop the Garment District event.

Phoenix Fashion Week hosted the event to preview the collections of the 2012 emerging designers to the public. (Remember those designers? If not you simply HAVE to read our first story here) Guests had the opportunity to shop the booths of all the fashion and jewelry designers, interact with the models, and of course sip on cosmopolitans. The highlight of the night was without a doubt the fashion show where each designer previewed 3 looks from their upcoming collection.

The audience was awed by the wide variety of looks, from Living Dreams trendy t-shirt line to the jaw-dropping burlap gown from JHaus and everything in between. The Top 40 models worked the runway, transforming the designs from just a pretty garment to a high fashion look. Don’t forget they are still competing for the Smartwater Model of the Year title, and Friday’s event was Challenge 2: Runway. Each model also donned jewelry pieces from the accessory designers of Bella Argentina and Melis to complete their looks. The styling of the whole show was beyond.

Friday night made us more excited than ever for Phoenix Fashion Week in October. We have already seen such forward progression from the emerging designers, and we can’t wait to see their full collections on the runway.
