Models, Fancy Cars, Large Checks, Superbowl Tickets and Boobs. Sounds like every man’s fantasy right?
Phoenix Fashion Week 2014 kicked off on Wednesday night with its signature Fashionably Pink event at Schumacher European Ltd. This event supports the incredible local non-profit organization Don’t Be a Chump, Check for a Lump. Every October, team PHXFW invites local celebrities and Breast Cancer Survivors to come strut their stuff in a fun show to raise awareness and benefit a great cause.
The night had all the elements of a fabulous soiree including fancy cars and beautiful people. We absolutely loved hanging out with some of our favorite bloggers, mingling with designers and picking out the cars we would like for Christmas (kidding… kind of).
All fabulousness aside, the event was truly focused on raising money for Don’t Be a Chump, Check for a Lump’s Wig Out program. This program allows women going through chemotherapy to go and pick out any wig they want at a wig shop of their choice. The organization will pay up to $250 of the cost so any one battling breast cancer can feel a bit more like herself.
We absolutely adore seeing the community come together to support an amazing cause. Through a silent auction, text message donations, and even a live auction for Superbowl 2015 tickets, the attendees of the event were gracious enough to open their wallets and their hearts to women battling this terrible disease.
The real fun began when the lights dimmed and the music blared. Models from Phoenix Fashion Week’s Top 40 Model Competition started the show, with a mix of local celebrities and survivors to follow. The runway was a place of celebration that brought a feeling of hope and inspiration to all in attendance.
