It’s that time of year again where celebrities and car aficionados alike come out to Scottsdale for the annual Barrett Jackson Car Auction.  We got the wonderful opportunity to experience the opening night gala and witness some of the latest collections by Phoenix Fashion Week designers. The evening commenced with a preview of the cars to be auctioned and a word from the charities participating in the event. Local resident and Poison lead singer, Bret Michaels, put on a special rock n’ roll performance while the models strutted down the runway in style.

ROLFS Salon was responsible for glamorizing the models for the evening, creating new looks for each designers’ collection.

Phoenix Fashion Week also kicked off a new program called “Get the Look” where they take every day people and transform them into red carpet superstars. The lucky participants for the first Get the Look were the Indie 500 winner Arie Luyendyk and his wife Mieke. They stopped by Rolf’s for beauty regimens, and then hit the red carpet dressed by Elevee and Doux Belle, who would show at the Opening Night Gala fashion show later that night. This pair looked phenomenal and we can’t wait to see more people transformed by the Phoenix Fashion Week team in the future.

Designer, Ted Baker  kicked off the fashion pedestal modeling for the evening with his business professional attire. This included everything from mixed and solid prints to crisp blazers and bow ties. The women wore “Mad Men” inspired dresses with chunky statement necklaces while the guys sported classic tweed jackets and khakis. The English influence was apparent in this young fresh collection.

Next up, was a combination of pieces from Elevee  and Doux Belle , both Phoenix Fashion Week designers. The wide brimmed feathered hats are what really set this collection apart from the rest. The pencil skirts and long gloves accentuated elegance while the pinstripe suits on the men instantly took us to the “Great Gatsby” era.

Marciano  and Elevee  caught our attention with their evening wear collection. The palm tree prints and gold accents exuded “Summer in Copacabana.” We loved the movement of the flowing dresses and the gold plated belts. This collection was practical and ready-to-wear, yet eye-catching and quintessential Marciano.

Last but certainly not least, Elevee and Michelle Herbert  closed the show with an astonishing “luxury” collection. The classic tailored suits worn by the men were close to perfection especially when you looked close enough to see the polka dot bow ties. The women stunned the crowd with their elaborated bejeweled headdresses while the plunging necklines and strategically placed lace bodices on their gowns were exceptional.

What made this event so successful was the fact that it appealed to a variety of tastes and interests, including everything from cars to fashion to music. It allows everyone from around the United States to come together and bond over this truly unique opportunity. We look forward to the 44th Annual Barrett Jackson Car Auction and what it brings to Scottsdale, Arizona!
