Swept Away by Windsor

For me, there is nothing better than spending time finding new places and spaces that I love. Fortunately, I had one of those pleasantly surprising weekends where everywhere I went, I wanted to blog, blog, and blog some more about it.

I would consider myself to be a little bit of a “foodie” so when I stumble across a great restaurant with mentionable menu items, creative branding, and a cool ambiance, I can’t wait to share with others. I have some serious appreciation for Upward Projects after experiencing my third restaurant in their collection. Postino WineCafe and Joyride Taco House never disappoint and Windsor is going to keep me coming back for more.

The food can be best described as American comfort food with a gourmet twist. Everything from the “Backyard Burger” to the “Brown Bag Chicken Sandwich” and not to mention, the parmesan crusted macaroni and cheese is worth drooling over.

The place itself makes a statement with its own hip theme (much like the other Upward Project creations.) I don’t know what it is about wood pallets, Edison lightbulbs, and cacti that makes a place look so cool, but Windsor mastered the style. The bar and restaurant inside gives off a dark speakeasy vibe and the outside feels like a swanky patio in Soho.

This would be the ideal place to snack on some cheddar fondue and pretzels while sipping on a craft cocktail. The inside versus the patio provides an entirely new and different experience. Churn, the ice cream parlor next door is just as hoppin as Windsor and is a great place to end the evening. If you have as much of a sweet tooth as I do, then you won’t pass up.

Curious as to what the “YES” stands for? I would assume it means Yes, Windsor is well worth checking out. Follow Upward Projects on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter to get updates on deals, new menu items, and local love.
