The White Shirt According to Me.

By now, we’re sure you’ve at least heard of Phoenix Art Museum’s major exhibit, The White Shirt According to Me, Gianfranco Ferré. Between the ads around town, and countless Instagram and Snapchats from people all over the valley, the exhibit has definitely made an impact on the Phoenix community.

The exhibit features the “architect of fashion” Gianfranco Ferré’s staple of power dressing – The White Shirt. Throughout the Italian designer’s 30 year career, the white shirt became the designer’s hallmark of style and shined a spotlight on how a simple garment can be transformed into a work of art.

But don’t be fooled into thinking The White Shirt According to Me, Gianfranco Ferré is limited to only purveyors of fashion and art. Because clothing is something each and every one of us interacts with on a daily basis, there is something that resonates deep within you when you see these magnificent shirts suspended between the ceiling and floor.

Walking into the exhibit feels like you are taking a journey to somewhere beyond the constraints of normal life and normal dressing. You begin to understand that clothing is not only a necessity, but one of life’s greatest luxuries.

To help illustrate how versatile and inspirational a white shirt can be, we invited Arizona influencers to come out in a white shirt that they felt highlighted their individual style and personality. The resulting photos are just as different and varied as the subjects posing for them. And that, we think, is a beautiful thing.

My white shirt has to be stylish, yet functional because I am always on the go. It is typically a white button down, but always has special details like interesting cuffs and buttons to make it unique. – The Chic Spy

The White Shirt According to Me, Gianfranco Ferré truly is a magical experience, and one that is certainly worth taking a trip downtown for. The exhibit will only be here in Phoenix for a few more weeks, wrapping up on March 6, 2016.

This world class exhibit is unlikely to show in The United States again, so now is the time to make your way to Phoenix Art Museum to see Ferré’s collection before it is packed up and sent back to Italy. For more information about museum hours and tickets, visit Phxart.org.
