Local Holiday Gift Guide 2014

When Costco brings out the oversized inflatable Christmas tree and 99.9 KEZ is continually playing “Let it Snow,” momentarily you realize, you have to start Christmas shopping. Sure, it requires money and forcing people to you tell what they want (some easier to speak to than others), it can actually be pretty fun.

Little do you know, there is an assortment of great holiday gift options right in your backyard. No, I am not referring to those purple hydrangeas that your mother is desperately trying to keep alive. I am talking about locally produced items. T-shirts, handmade greeting cards, home décor, and succulent pots galore.

Phoenix is home to many talented entrepreneurs inspired by their environment and the latest trends. Two of my favorite organizations, Pineapple Triangle and Phoenix Flea, do an amazing job at bringing all these local artists and designers together. If you missed their flea market events this year, do not fret, you still have time to purchase your holiday gifts.

Here are a few of my favorite items a lot of them having been made with “Green” production practices. Take a look around, you might just find that perfect little something for your picky Secret Santa.
