The core members of FFM.

When you think of Arizona, fashion isn’t always the first thing that comes to mind. What may surprise you, however, is the amount of fashion-related talent Arizona is home to. The Female Fashion Movement is a group of men and women with a wide variety of skills in the fashion market. From runway production, to styling, to fashion design, to photography and just about anything else fashion related, this group of talented fashionistas can help you or your client with it all.

“I think FFM is a unique concept that provides women who are pursuing degrees or a career in fashion to have a safe and supportive way to gain experience and get their foot in the door with others who share their drive and passion for the business of fashion and creativity.” -Victoria Mohrman

FFM has a pretty incredible list of shows they’ve been able to assist with (see below), but some of the most notable include shows that took place at Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week at Lincoln Center and Style Week LA. In addition, they’ve been invited to both Paris Fashion Week and Miami Fashion Week. Their resume speaks for itself, and a bright future seems to be on the horizon from these hardworking, fashion-loving individuals!

“My favorite part about being a part of FFM is being able to reach out to a network of talented individuals who have the same interests as I do. It’s amazing how many connections and resources you can come across as a team.” – Candace Carter

I had the pleasure of sitting down with Candace Carter, a core member of Female Fashion Movement, to discus what exactly the group does and what their main focus is. Read below for the interview.

CitS: What services does Female Fashion Movement offer to their clients?

FFM: “FFM offers a variety of services. We have a team of talented individuals from stylists, production leads, backstage coordinators, dressers, models, personal shoppers and more.”

CitS: FFM has grown a lot since its birth. What do you see in its future?

FFM: “FFM has come so far since we started 2 years ago. We hope to advance and become a non-profit organization so that we can further give back to the community. One of our additional goals is to produce our own fashion show! There’s no specific date yet but keep an eye out for our team! We’re moving up fast and I’m excited to be on this journey with such a dynamic group of people! “

CitS: What are some of your most favorite memories with FFM?

FFM: “Believe it or not, some of my favorite memories with FFM are during the most difficult shows. It felt amazing to be able to come together and help relieve some of the stress that can arise for designers, models and everyone else backstage. One of our main goals is to create a calm and positive atmosphere backstage. I also really loved traveling with the team to L.A. and NYC! We made great connections and had a blast in the process!”

CitS: If someone was interested in getting involved with FFM, how do they go about it?

FFM: “There are no specific requirements to get involved with FFM! We just ask that you be a passionate individual with a positive attitude and good work ethic. We do have mandatory pre-show meetings from time to time so there is some commitment.  For inquiries contact us at femalefashionmovement@gmail.com and we will add you to our mailing list for upcoming events and volunteer opportunities.”

CitS: What about those who are looking for paid opportunities to expand in the fashion world?

FFM: “We definitely offer paid opportunities for our new members!  Here at FFM, we take the work we do very seriously and seek to give our clients the optimal backstage experience, regardless of if it is paid or volunteer work. Receiving paid opportunities all depends on how involved you’d like to be with the team and your overall work ethic.”

CitS: How can we keep up with the latest news from Female Fashion Movement?

FFM: “For inquiries feel free to reach us at femalefashionmovement@gmail.com. Our website is femalefashionmovement.com and our social media handle is @femalefashionmovement.”
