Is there really anything better than the way leather feels… the way leather smells… If there is, I certainly haven’t found it yet! At In Blue Handmade, they are taking their affinity for leather to a whole new level.

Founder, Mary Lynn Schroeder, decided to bring her passion to life after moving from the bustling city of Chicago to a small farm town in southern Illinois. Talk about a life change! Mary Lynn says she bought a sewing machine on the way down, learned how to work it, and never looked back.

Now, Mary Lynn has grown In Blue Handmade from a “Me” to a “We” with a team of  leather working magicians and  50,000+ items in sales. In Blue has been fortunate enough to go from a simple etsy shop to a gorgeous studio in Ashveille, NC that they call home.  Together, the team makes each piece by hand every single day. They start with top grain cowhides, trace and cut their own pattern pieces, sew ’em up, stamp down their ink, and ship the finished product to your door.

They have also taken their passion for leather goods on the road, attending and vending many major music and arts festivals, including  (but not limited to) Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, Merle Fest, Pitchfork Music Festival, and the Newport Folk Festival.

Mary Lynn says her success is due to the fact that, above all else, her team loves what they do. “It means the world to the In Blue team to be able to bring you a personalized craft and a unique way to express yourself.”
