Every single one of us is busy. Both your editors are full-time students, have part time jobs, and of course, maintain our fashion blog. And then there’s Shadow Asgari of Fit Fabulous Mom: a mother of two 4-year olds, orthodontist, and the brains behind her adorable blog. We understand, really. But we’re not letting you off the hook for those work out pants you wore last week. Being busy is NOT an excuse for bad fashion. It’s incredibly easy to be fabulous and let’s face it, you don’t deserve anything less.

We couldn’t have been more thrilled when upon meeting Shadow, she told us her blog was a “No Excuses” type blog. Fit Fabulous Mom encourages mothers to step up and take care of themselves. After all, when you look good, you command respect.

Although Couture in the Suburbs doesn’t have much experience with parenting, we have definitely heard excuses about being too busy to be fashionable. It’s time to stop. A pair of great fitting jeans takes just as long to put on as sweat pants, and no hairstyle is easier than a top knot. Here are some of our tips for dressing your best.

We decided to team up with the fashion-forward mom blogger to show our viewers how easy it is to transform a look from day to evening. Change a piece of your outfit, add a heel, and throw on some new accessories for a brand new you.

Ann Taylor tank and cardigan, Gap pants, Banana Republic skirt, Bvlgari sunglasses, Coach purse

“I chose a polka dot tank with a mustard yellow cardigan and white denim pants for my day look, and at night, I changed into a white skirt and heels.”

Francesca’s Collections shirt and pants, Boutique To You lace vest, Charlotte Ruse heels and earrings, Fab Fashions 101 bow wristlet

“I love pairing this striped cotton shirt with just about everything in my wardrobe. For my day look, I chose a pair of fun printed pants that are equal parts comfortable and fashion-forward. A flowy asymmetrical skirt, black velvet pumps, and statement jewelry dress the look up for an evening dinner date.”

Forever 21 leopard top and sweater, BCBG Paris flats, Nordstrom maxi, Steve Madden Pumps, Here on the Corner necklace

“Leopard print is fab, and this button up is incredibly versatile.  I love to layer–this cozy sparkly sweater paired with my favorite semi-sheer black maxi is oh so chic and secretly comfortable.  Pop of color has been everywhere this a summer and it transitioned effortlessly onto an evening look.  A royal blue mini and a peach platform on these fab nude pumps make for a fierce look.”

Stay busy, stay fabulous. You deserve to be the best version of yourself! Kids, college, work… eliminate the excuses and dress for you inner fashionista. We better not catch ya in those sweat pants!
