Sunday was the perfect day with good weather, friends, free food, and a clothing swap. CO-OPhx welcomed us to their Tempe clothing swap, and even let us host our own DIY booth.
It was our very first time at a swap. It was such a fun and new experience for us. We loved mingling with other fashionistas and sharing our love of blogging with the Tempe community.
Now we’re sure you’re wondering, “What is a clothing swap exactly?” Great question. Basically, whoever attends can donate up to ten items of gently used clothing along with accessories and shoes. These items are then displayed on tables and racks, and everyone who brought items is allowed to scurry about and “swap” for the same number of items you originally brought. The best part is that whatever items don’t get swapped goes to the International Rescue Committee. Clothing Swap Tempe ended up donating 15 full bags of clothing! How fab is that?
Not only did we get to go, take pics, and swap, we also had our own DIY booth! Before the swapping began, women of all ages came to our booth and made cute colorful bracelets with us.

Simply Audree Kate was also there with a DIY booth. Her project was a little bit more complex than ours (That girl seriously knows how to do-it-hersef!) Her project was fun twisted headbands ( and we both were lucky enough to make one).
Shoptiques was another booth right next to us. Besides looking absolutely fabulous in their Shoptiques gear, they were also holding a raffle giving away their adorable bathing suits, chunky jewelry, and a fabulous floral shawl.
Overall, today was filled with fashion, fun crafts, and prizes galore. Chloe Bosmeny and Lizzy Roman, (remember the events coordinators we interviewed in our preview?! Check out the interview here) did an amazing job organizing and setting up this amazing event. The girls were definitely thrilled with the turnout and how successful everything was.
We couldn’t be more thankful to have been a part of Clothing Swap Tempe! Make sure you “Like” Clothing Swap on Facebook to find out when the next event is!
P.S. Thanks Cassie Goers for being a HUGE help today! This girl not only worked the DIY booth, she also grabbed photos and wrote the story. Couldn’t have done it without you. XoXo Couture in the Suburbs
