As Phoenix Fashion Week continues with their events, we found ourselves back at The Mint in Scottsdale for the No7 Model Announcement Party. (Remember the excitement from last year? Read the story here.) The lights of the cameras flashed and the music bumped from the DJ booth as many fresh, new faces were seen.
Again, 40 stunning models, 10 male and 30 female, made the cut from 200 original hopefuls. Each of the models’ names were announced to the crowd, as they took to the raised runway to fiercely strut their stuff and show off their model behavior.
Toni & Guy and No7 cosmetics made sure each model ready for their close up. Earlier this month, the top 40 models got a makeover, Phoenix Fashion Week style, to make sure they were updated and fresh for the runway. (Remember how much fun the makeovers were last year? Check out another fun story here).
We were happy to see several emerging designers at the event, checking out which models were their favorites. Honestly, we do not even know how you would be able to make a decision. But, Phoenix Fashion Week is attempting to make it easier with several challenges to see which models stand out from the rest.
Following suite of last year, Challenge 1 was the Headshot Challenge, with one male and one female to be chosen as winners. The top four female finalists were Saydi Kelly, Ariah Evans, Sydney Rounsaville and Christina Barron. The top two male finalists were Denis Danicic and Giovanny Lopez.
Everyone looked fabulous, but a huge congratulations goes out to Sydney Rounsaville and Denis Danicic on winning the first challenge! We know that you two will continue to stand out as the Model of the Year competition heats up.
We can’t wait to see how these models will progress as we head to Shop Garment District and Phoenix Fashion Week in the fall. Get ready to strut your stuff ladies and gentlemen. You have a very exciting road ahead of you to becoming the winner of Phoenix Fashion Week’s Emerging Model contest!
