7 Reasons to Get a Blowout

Okay, so obviously blowouts have been an insanely popular beauty trend for several years now, and we’ve seen blow dry bars popping up all over Phoenix. So, I began to wonder…what is so great about having someone else wash and blow dry your hair? Well, I decided to find out.

As you know (at least if you follow us on Instagram), I recently went to Las Vegas for my 21st birthday. I decided this trip would be the perfect opportunity to try out a blowout. I stopped by Park Avenue Blow Dry Salon and let the stylists work their magic. And I have to tell you… it WAS magic.

Check out my 7 reasons why you should go get a blowout. Like now.

Reason #1

Having someone else wash your hair feels AMAZING! It’s the ultimate relaxation… And with all the work us fashionistas do in a day, we deserve a little me time.

Reason #2

The salon-quality products are great for your hair (and smell absolutely fabulous).

Park Avenue uses the Kevin.Murphy product line – an Australian brand that focuses on bringing runway style to the everyday woman. Oh, and it’s all paraben & sulphate free, and based on skincare. So it’s super healthy for your hair and scalp.

Reason #3

You can wake up at 6 a.m., drive 6 hours, and not have to re-curl or flat iron your hair.

I literally walked into my hotel room (a beautiful room at The Cosmopolitan with an incredible room of the Bellagio fountains…Thanks Daddy!), touched up my powder, changed my outfit and hit the casino. Vegas is way too much fun to spend it in the bathroom fixing your hair.

Reason #4

You can stay up very, very late partying and gambling and then meet your parents for breakfast at 10 a.m.

I was craving coffee  when my parents woke me up to announce they were going to breakfast. I normally need my coffee as soon as I wake up, but I wasn’t going to stroll into The Cosmopolitan having just rolled out of bed. I asked them to give me 20 minutes to get ready and that I’d meet them downstairs. They laughed because they know how long I usually take for my beauty routine.

I shocked them when I walked into the restaurant way sooner than they had expected. “How does your hair still look like that?” my mom asked. I told her all I had to do was add some dry shampoo, fix my bangs, and comb through my hair. Even dad was impressed (and delighted that he didn’t have to wait to scarf down his breakfast potatoes).

Reason #5

Your hair won’t get frizzy after trying on countless pieces of clothing at the Caesar Forum Shops.

Reason #6

You can take close up selfies with your Cosmo and not worry about weird flyaway hairs.

Day 4 and I still haven’t needed to wash or style my hair.

So that’s $35 + $7 tip for 4 days of hair perfection. That’s like $10 a day…. I am SOLD! As a busy college student who’s also working and fashion blogging, the amount of time I save not having to do my hair is totally worth it. Not to mention, I don’t have to stress about how my Instagram photos and Snap Chats will turn out.
