We love a fabulous photo shoot… what fashion blogger doesn’t? So, of course, our editor, Lindsay Viker, was thrilled when she had the extra-special opportunity to go behind the scenes of a photo shoot at the Sedona airport for the relaunch of the men and women’s brand, Bilby and Moss. Well… technically, she was front and center as one of the models for the travel wear brand. (How fun!)
When she was offered the opportunity, she talked to Bilby and Moss owners, Jeanne and Jerry, and asked them if she could share with all of you what it’s actually like to do a photo shoot like this. And, because they loved the blog, they agreed!
“Christina, a beautiful young lady who was helping Jeanne and Jerry relaunch Bilby and Moss, approached me at Phoenix Fashion Week and asked if I ever modeled. I laughed and said I usually prefer to stay behind the camera, but will dabble in occasionally for my fashion blog. Well, she went on to say that she was a Bilby and Moss representative and that they saw me during the show and thought I would make the perfect model for their relaunch. We exchanged business cards, and soon enough, were e-mailing about details of me coming up to Sedona.”
“The first day was full of fittings and planning looks for the shoot. Then, Bilby and Moss was nice enough to treat me to a delicious dinner at the Hilton, and drove me to the casita I stayed in (beautiful room with a wood burning fire place, walk in shower, and jacuzzi tub!). I was up super early to do hair and makeup for the shoot, and then we headed to the Sedona airport. I was super nervous, but the photographer, Courtney Fitzpatrick, quickly put me at ease.”
“It was absolutely freezing when we first got to the airport, but luckily it warmed up by the time we shot the tank top looks. The view was absolutely breathtaking, and it was awesome to be shooting near the runway as planes were flying in. It was such a thrill! Of course, Sedona airport security made sure we were a safe distance away!
I felt a little awkward in front of the camera at first. But, with the encouragement from Courtney and the rest of the Bilby and Moss team saying I was “a natural” I eased up and thoroughly enjoyed it! I absolutely loved the Bilby and Moss shirts, Raven Denim pants, and beautiful jewelry I got to wear!”

“The whole photo shoot was an incredible experience, that I’m so happy I got to be a part of! I met fabulous people that I’m lucky enough to call friends now. Oh, and I have some pretty cool pictures to show my grandkids one day. Thank you Jeanne, Jerry, Christina, Adrian, and Courtney for making this photo shoot everything I could have hoped for and more!”
P.S. Look at what a good sport Jerry was! Even carrying around heels for me!
Bilby and Moss has recently expanded past their online store, into a showroom in Sedona. If you find yourself up in the area you definitely have to check out the boutique to see the clothes and accessories up close and personal.
Working with Bilby and Moss has been an absolutely amazing experience. If you’re looking for comfortable, classic pieces (all made in the USA!) this is definitely a brand you’ll want to check out. To see more from them (and the photos of Lindsay): check out BilbyandMoss.com
