This is huge. Phoenix based designer, Mabella Chic, just premiered her summer 2014 collection in NEW YORK CITY! We saw the designer at the Brave Wings Fashion Show in June (check out our photos & recap here), but we had no idea that just a few short months later she would be flying her collection out to the Big Apple during New York Fashion Week.
Mabella Chic was selected as one of the designers to present their collections at Small Boutique Fashion Week, an event at which brands like Tracy Reece, Coach, and Steve Madden have all previously debuted collections.
We, of course, were absolutely thrilled that an Arizona designer was selected. And once we saw these photos of her “Summer Love Collection,” we completely understood why NYC simply had to have her.
“What inspired the collection was visualizing a woman taking the time to celebrate life with someone she loves”, said Mabel Cortez. The designer is known for using bright colors and feminine shapes to evoke a sense of desire, with a tad bit of playfulness.

The other really exciting news is that Mabel Cortez is coming to Business of Fashion at ASU‘s official launch party to talk to college kids about her career and how they can get started in the world of fashion.
