The Claredon Hotel in Downtown Phoenix was lit up with lights, excitement, and of course-fashion on Sunday night. Ashely Rebecca Management and the Phoenix Glam Squad (PGS) were the ones who were able to make it all happen. The show featured seven amazing fashion designers and two musical performers. The main stage was on the pool and each floor of the hotel was visible for everyone to see the amazing event. This was my first time going to a fashion show, so I was absolutely excited to see what was in store for us.

The first in line was Iland Apparel. Future Fambo, a Jamaican artist, performed while the models worked the runway. Their t-shirt designs were simple, yet unique. Each had a three colored circular pattern that made the white t-shirt stand out. You could easily rock these with a pair of jeans or leggings!

Rejected Thrifts by Ebony Johnson was next. I absolutely loved this collection! All of her pieces had some pattern on them that made them stand out. Her shawls were perfection; you can pair them with high-waisted shorts, with a dress, jeans, or leggings to make your outfit the center of attention. Her African print dress was to die for! The peek-a-boo top and the pencil skirt bottom was definitely an eye catcher.

Boshok Clothing stands for Blood of Slaves, Heart of Kings and they were up next. They design for men and women and provide a simple, but urban feel to their tees. Most of us have seen the t-shirts with the pocket design and Boshok’s were amazing! I love anything with patterns and the pocket design adds attraction to the tee. All of their t-shirts are interchangeable and you can pair them with almost anything; but it’s the design on each of them that makes the outfit.

Richknits was up next and oh were they ready to work it. Their designs were avant guarde, sexy, and classy. Their bathing suits were amazing! From chains, to sailor inspired bathing suits, multiple patterns, and accents the suits were one of a kind. Who wouldn’t want to wear a two pattern bathing suit?!

After a performance from Wax Society (who we loved), Women’s Touch Apparel was up next. This local brand is all about women empowerment-what a great way to incorporate fashion with a movement! The line consisted of high-low dresses and tanks, crop tops, and body suits as statement pieces with empowering phrases and images. Her Rosie the Riveter high-low dress was perfection, showing the world that woman are powerful too. Clutch Jewelry was featured in all of these beautiful designs.

Next was Rayisa Mills’ collection which was chic, elegant, and classy for sure. Her line consisted of gorgeous dresses and two-piece outfits with exciting colors and patterns. My favorite was the blue, long-sleeved maxi dress that had an open back peacock design-perfect for an event or a date!

One Thought was the last to work the runway and they were definitely memorable. The designs were inspired by Native Americans and their exquisite patterns. This was a highly dominate male brand that featured multiple patterns in one piece. The man dresses had a triple design and most of them had a covering at the top so that the models could cover their face up to their nose. I’d never seen anything like this and I loved it! It was so outside the box!

The show was amazing and all the designers and performers did a fantastic job! Remixing the Runway is something that we should all embrace: add your own flare to whatever is it that you love and make it your own!

Celisa, we are so thrilled that your first fashion show was with Couture in the Suburbs! Amazing recap and we hope you enjoyed seeing Phoenix Remix the Runway (Pun Intended).
