I can wholeheartedly admit that I am an old soul… I often think to myself that I was born in the wrong time period, and find myself daydreaming about what life was like in an earlier era. Because of this, I am inherently drawn to vintage fashion, and as of recently found a new appreciation for vintage cars. This may be surprising I know, but when my father purchased a 1968 Ford Boardman Firetruck with 100% original features, I immediately started fantasizing about an editorial photo shoot that highlighted the glamour and glory of a decade gone by.
As my father and I brainstormed the concept, we both fell in love with the idea of shooting elegant ensembles in an industrial setting. There was something about this juxtaposition that kept the concept accessible, while maintaining the necessary fantasy element. When my father shared the excitement with his friends, he found that several other vintage car enthusiasts also fell in love with the idea. We were more than happy to invite them to participate, and ended up having a small scale car show on the side of our photo shoot. I can assure you, mixing motorheads with models makes for an interesting event, and everyone walked away with a newfound appreciation for cars and couture.
