Horses Horsepower & Fashion

Our Saturday morning was spent watching polo matches, admiring luxurious cars, and seeing equestrian-inspired fashion in every direction—we’re definitely not complaining.

This day-long event was appropriately titled “Horses & Horsepower,” featuring a sneak preview of Barrett-Jackson alongside the Westworld of Scottsdale’s Polo Field where matches would be held at 11, 1, and the final match at 3.

We were so excited to hear of Phoenix Fashion Week partnering with the 2nd Annual Scottsdale Polo Championships—we know you miss their events just as much as we do!  Their incredible momentum off of this year’s shows (our recap on Day 1, 2, 3, and 4) led them to host The Lounge, a fashion runway segment that attendees could enjoy in between chukkers (Polo’s equivalent of quarters at a football game, or periods in hockey).  These shows included very authentic Polo gear, preppy looks, and fem equestrian attire.

Do you recognize these models?? That’s right, a few of the Top 40 Emerging Models (refresh your memory with their Announcement Party here) walked the mini-runway in equestrian pieces.  Gloves, hats, and belts added the perfect finishing touches to each look.

We cannot get enough of the styling on these male models.  Authentic Polo mallets and whips paired with white pants (which is typical of Polo players) looked beyond.  And what says equestrian better than riding boots??

We adored seeing the attendees dressed up in classic equestrian attire almost as much as we loved those who wore fun sundresses and eye-catching hats.  The 2nd Annual “Horses Horsepower” event was a success. It’s hard to top an event with Polo player hotties and magnificent cars–so hats off  to The Lounge by Phoenix Fashion Week for providing the perfect dose of fashion to the mix.  You could say that we were having a “Pretty Woman” moment, (just missing Richard Gere) with these fab fashions everywhere we looked.
