Once upon a time there was a girl whose goal in life was to follow her big dreams. Her dreams were to get out of the quaint small town holding her back and into a big city full of opportunities. These opportunities she hoped would be in the fashion world. A world so big and challenging but full of rewards once initiated in. This story is not just a tale it’s my journey in this crazy thing we call life.
My name is Taylor Tomczyk and I am ecstatic to announce that I am your new writer for Couture in the Suburbs! Here is a little bit about that girl who continues to follow her dreams. I grew up in Wickenburg, Arizona living in the same house my whole life; my dad built our home with his own two hands. From as long as I can remember I knew I had a passion for fashion. From the age of 7 I would sketch out my designs and I made my dad promise to send them to all of my favorite designers. Sadly, the top designers didn’t want my seven-year-old doodles but that still didn’t kill my dreams.
Fast-forward to 19 years later and I got accepted to The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University to study Fashion Journalism. With this next scary step I moved to the wonderful city of Tempe. To most people this opportunity wouldn’t be scary at all but ASU’s campus is bigger than my hometown! With this next step grew my love for Tempe and all that this wonderful city has to offer. I always knew that I was meant to be a city girl!
As I predicted the opportunities in Tempe are huge and I couldn’t be happier joining the Couture in the Suburbs team! I feel so blessed to have a position to share with you all of the great things Arizona has to offer. Stay tuned friends this is only the beginning of a great journey!
